waiting for writing design file to devices

Should this take 30 minutes each time I exit the online mode?

My system contains 1 BLU-10, 5 BLUE 160s, and 9 BLUE 120s.

If you're using v3.06, no. If you're using any version prior to that, yes.

I am using version 3.06 built at 11:57 on 4/3/2011 currently. The file was created a few revisions back and modified in two or three revisions along the way. I seem to have full control when online, but there are 3 separate mute group setups that aren't saved correctly when I go offline. It seems like the changes are not being saved to the units. They behave as expected when the PC is connected, but the next time the units are power cycled, they revert to the previous setup.

There's no such thing as a "mute group" in London Architect, so your problem could be several different things depending on how you've accomplished the functionality and what exactly is happening. You haven't explained what "behave as expected" means in your system or what "revert to the previous setup" means, so there's no way to guess what's going on. The best thing to do would be to email your design file to tech support with an exact description of what's happening.

If you're experiencing long wait times while writing the design file, there's possibly something wrong with one of your devices which is slowing down the transfer. There's a good chance you could eliminate it if you reset all of the devices and then reload the design file. To completely reset a device:

click on the Windows START button
click on RUN
type in cmd and hit enter
type in telnet xx.xx.xx.xx (xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of your device)
username is bssaudio
password is monkey
type in purgexml (all one word) and wait for it to finish
type in formatflash (all one word) and wait for it to finish
type in reboot
close the command window

repeat for each device

DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO SET UP A SOUNDWEB LONDON DEVICE FROM SCRATCH. After doing this, the device will be completely reset. That includes IP address, name, etc. If you don't know how to setup a device from scratch, including how to setup your computer's IP address and subnet so that you can talk to a new device, then you're going to have a nightmare on your hands.

Alternately, you could turn off the silly "Save to Device Network" option and just do it manually when you actually need to save a modified version of the design file. To turn autosave off:

click on the TOOLS menu
select APPLICATION PREFERENCES
click the FILE tab
in the Save to Device Network section change the dropdown selection to NO.

That will stop LA from wasting time saving the design file to the device network every time you go online. When you actually make a change to the design file, just save it manually by clicking on the FILE menu and selecting SAVE TO DEVICE NETWORK. It'll still take a long time to do because of the underlying problem in your system, but at least London Architect won't be plugging away like a savant trying to save every time you go online.

Sorry Dan,

Poor word choice on my part. I have groups of linked mute buttons. Currently one specific BLU160 powers up with two members of a specific linked group always muted regardless of whether the linked group is muted or unmuted via the BLU10. When I connect a computer and go online, the two mute buttons start working with the rest of the group as intended. They will then behave correctly until the BLU160 is power cycled.

I created the LA file, so I will try your reset instructions to see if that clears the condition.
